Response to The Cyberattack on HSE IT Systems by The National Maternity Hospital

By nmhadmin, Thursday, 20th May 2021 | 0 comments

The HSE IT systems have been subject to a cyberattack. Despite this, we have continued to provide a full clinical service to our patients since the cyberware attack.

As a result, access to our IPMS (Inpatient Management System) and our MNCMS (Electronic Patient Record System for both maternity and neonatal) have been lost.

We would like to thank all our staff for their incredible work. As a fully digitalised hospital, their commitment to our patients enabled us to swiftly revert to a paper based system and to offer full clinical services since the cyberattack. We will continue to use this system with retrospective insertion of data to electronic records at a later date.

We are very grateful to all our patients for your support, patience, cooperation and kindness, it makes a world of difference to the whole team. Thank you

Outpatient and gynaecology appointments and services are going ahead as scheduled.

You may experience some delays. We ask you to please be patient with our staff as they do their utmost to adjust to a paper based system.

Please bring your most recent appointment letter or appointment card with you, your hospital number and any other documentation you have that is relevant to your care.

Phone consultations for gynaecology have been temporarily cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date.

If you are due to have a physiotherapy telephone consultation anytime up to the 28th May, please email with your full name, hospital number, date of birth and contact telephone number.

Please also include date and time of your scheduled call.
