The Gynaecology Outpatient Department and its clinics are located on the ground floor in the main building of The National Maternity Hospital.
All clinics are by appointment only.
- Referrals are only accepted from medical professionals. Your GP or consultant from another hospital will need to send a referral form to the hospital. The referral letter will then be triaged by a consultant gynaecologist
- You will receive a letter confirming if your referral has been accepted and you will be placed on a waiting list for an appointment.
- An appointment letter with the date and time of your appointment will be sent to you by post 6 weeks in advance of your appointment. Confirmation and reminder of appointment messages will be sent by text.
Please note, different clinic specialities run on different days and times, therefore change of day/time of attendance is not possible.
If you have a query relating to your appointment, please contact us using the contact details below. Failure to attend your appointment or cancellation of an appointment may result in you being removed from the waiting list.
Please continue to attend your GP for medical advice while you wait for your appointment. If you develop new or worsening symptoms and are concerned about your waiting time, your GP can send an updated referral requesting your appointment be expedited.
If you are opting for private gynaecology care at The National Maternity Hospital, your GP must send a referral directly to the named consultant specifying you are opting for private care. For information on fees and charges for private gynaecology care please see our fees and charges page.
