Outpatient Hysteroscopy Activity 2019
Ambulatory Gynaecology services continue to provide an important diagnostic and treatment facility for women attending gynae services at NMH. The service runs three times per week in close collaboration with the ultrasound/scanning department. 20% of our cases in 2019 were operative hysteroscopy eg Polypectomy and intrauterine device retrievals. Only 6.7% of our cases were referred to theatre thereby significantly reducing the number of women requiring procedures under general anaesthetic.
