To mark #lnternationalWomensDay, NMH trailblazers Prof Fionnuala McAuliffe, Prof Mary Higgins & Dr Anna Curley spoke with The Irish Times about the importance – and joy – of their research in our busy maternity hospital.

We are so proud to showcase some of the work of these three incredible women on this very special day, International Women’s Day. Prof Fionnuala McAuliffe, Prof Mary Higgins and Dr Anna Curley are just three of a large number of NMH inspirational, dedicated professionals, both male & female, who dedicate their lives to looking for the why and finding better outcomes for women and their babies. Their leadership and contribution towards a sustainable future in Women's, Maternal & Neonatal Health is truly remarkable.

The NMH has long been a centre of excellence for active research and is leading the way in Ireland in terms of Women’s & Maternal Health. Clinicians at the NMH work tirelessly to develop innovative insights and improvements in practice with the aim of improving the lives of mothers and their babies. Their knowledge and expertise help to saves lives every day.

The hospital is also a referral centre for women who are at risk of having babies preterm and babies who are born preterm in regional centres.

In recognition and in celebration of all the wonderful work our entire team do on a daily basis, we would like to say a wholehearted thank you and to wish patients and staff alike, a very happy & memorable International Women’s Day.
