Section 8 of the Freedom of Information Act 2014 requires FOI bodies to prepare and publish as much information as possible in an open and accessible manner on a routine basis outside of FOI, having regard to the principles of openness, transparancy and accountability as set out in Sections 8(5) and 11(3) of the Act.  The scheme commits FOI bodies to make information available as part of their normal business activities in accordance with the scheme.

Protected Disclosure 2018

July 2021

The NMH is committed to maintaining an open culture where workers can report any concerns they may have in confidence.

We have a policy in place that aims at encouraging the reporting of genuine concerns about relevant wrongdoings (Protected Disclosures Policy). It also provides guidance on how to raise a concern and reassures workers that genuine concerns can and should be raised, without fear of penalisation.
In accordance with the Protected Disclosure Act 2014 we present previous year’s disclosures on our website. In relation to 2020, no protected disclosures were made to The National Maternity Hospital and no further action was therefore required.

If you have any questions in relation to this please contact Yvonne Connolly, HR Manager (tel: 01-637 3271).
